APCC - ACORD CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Concept outlines are a vital component for writing study protocols, letters of intent to industryor grant applications to funding bodies. This one-day workshop will help researchers who are at the start of their career to translate innovative ideas on cancer studies into persuasive brief concept outlines.

The workshop will be conducted through

• Short presentations
• Written exercises
• Small group discussions

Participants who are interested are expected to discuss their idea for a proposed clinical cancer research study and the workshop faculty members will help themwith a concept outline. The workshop can be attended by Junior Clinicians and Scientists from a broad range of disciplines involved in cancer care including

• Medical Oncology
• Radiation Oncology
• Surgical Oncology
• Haemato-Oncolgy
• Paediatric Oncology
• Supportive Care
• Palliative Medicine
• Imaging
• Psycho Oncology

Junior clinicians are those who have completed their oncology training within the last 7 years, or will do so within the next 2 years. Junior scientists are those who've completed a PhD within the last 5 years.

Participants in these 1-day workshops will be encouraged to submit their completed concept outlines as part of an application to attend the subsequent 1-Week ACORD Protocol Development Workshop scheduled for Sunday, 27 September - Friday, 02 October 2020 at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, NSW Australia.

Selection for the 1-Week workshop is highly competitive (best 70-80 applications from about 200 applicants). Applicants from low-middle income countries (LMIC including: India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Burma, Philippines, and Srilanka) will be eligible to apply for fellowships that cover all costs of attending the 1-week workshop.
