Dr. Raymond Dominic Savio is a renown Critical Care Specialist with more than twenty years of experience in this highly specialized field which passionately caters to the needs of acutely ill patients. He has been one of the forerunners who have contributed towards establishing Critical Care Medicine as a standalone specialty and promoting Critical Care Outreach Services. His areas of expertise include the treatment of patients with organ failure notably multiple organ dysfunction syndrome, infectious diseases and cancer critical care. He holds an important place in the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) and the Onco Critical Care Society (OCCS), and has authored several national treatment guidelines and policies. He has won many awards, citations and fellowships in recognition for his contribution to this specialty.
His special interest in Onco Critical Care has enabled him to dedicate towards the unique requirements of patients with cancer and undergoing various modalities of treatment. Patients with cancer manifest several distinct acute illnesses and the treatment often necessitates a highly focussed approach unlike in a general Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Raymond is a pioneer in this field with enormous experience and has been a part of Apollo Proton Cancer Centre since its inception.
