Mamallapuram or Mahabalipuram, 50 kms south of Chennai, is a heritage town known for its temples and monuments built by the Pallava dynasty in the 7th and 8th centuries.

Mahabs, as It is popularly known, is a confluence of the old and new. Ancient temples co-exist with traveller hub of Othavadai and Othavadai Cross Street, where restaurants serve travellers from around the world the best of local and continental cuisine. The picturesque beaches around Mahabs are emerging as major hub for surfers in South India. You can sign up for a lesson quite easily from the certified surfing schools located there.

Mamallapuram is less than two hours by bus from Chennai, and a stone’s throw from APCC. Once you are there, we recommend you hire a bicycle to explore this beautiful, tranquil sea-side town.

Auroville - The City of Dawn


Auroville, 'the City of Dawn', is a township situated just off the scenic East Coast Road. An international community dedicated to peace, sustainability and 'divine consciousness', Auroville is home to people from different corners of world who live in complete harmony and oneness with nature.

About 90 minutes away from APCC, Auroville can be reached by buses as well as private taxis. Once you are there you can meditate, sign up for a class, browse through the incredible produce and products in the Auroville store, or just enjoy the incredible vibe of the place.

Puducherry - A major Tourist Destination


Puducherry, formerly Pondicherry is an old colonial French town, situated about 3 hours away from Chennai. A major tourist destination, Pondy( as it is popularly known) is full of quaint hotels and curio shops that have on offer nostalgia and a slice of a bygone era.

Walk along the promenade, or rent a bike and explore the Bohemian vibe that Pondicherry is so famous for.
